The Pottery Workshop

The Pottery Workshop (Le Tian Tao She) is the soul of Jingdezhen's modern ceramics revival: a working studio inside the sculpture porcelain factory where travelers can take classes in throwing, glazing, and painting, taught in English by resident artists.

Its Saturday morning market is the city's most famous ritual - young ceramicists spread their work across the courtyard, and collectors, travelers, and locals haggle over pieces that would cost three times as much anywhere else. A class here is the hands-on experience Jingdezhen is famous for, and the finished pieces can be shipped home.
