Sanbao Ceramic Art Village

Sanbao is an international artists' village tucked into the green hills above Jingdezhen: galleries, studios, and workshops where ceramicists from a dozen countries live and work. The founder, a Jingdezhen legend, built the village to keep the city's craft alive through contemporary art.

Wandering the valley is the best free cultural afternoon in Jiangxi - studio doors open, artists happy to talk, and the gallery shop selling pieces you will not see elsewhere. There are also wood-fired kiln demonstrations and, for the committed, multi-day residency programs.
