Cook In Shanghai

Cook In Shanghai has been teaching visitors to cook Chinese food since 2012, entirely in English. The signature class starts at the wet market: you shop for produce with your instructor, then head to the kitchen to cook a full family-style meal - dumplings, twice-cooked pork, seasonal greens - and sit down to eat it.

Beyond cooking, they run calligraphy and paper-cutting workshops, a la mian noodle-pulling class, and private cultural sessions. Classes are small, hands-on, and end with recipes you will actually reproduce at home. The studio sits on Middle Huaihai Road, easy to reach from anywhere in the city.
