Lu Ming Chun

Lu Ming Chun has been Shenyang's grand restaurant for over a century, and its kitchen carries on the cuisine of the Manchu banquet tradition - the elaborate imperial feasts that came out of the region's Qing heritage - alongside the honest, hearty cooking of Liaoning: stews, smoked meats, and river fish.

The dining room is old-school grand: crystal, white tablecloths, and waiters who have been there for decades. For visitors, it is the definitive introduction to northeastern Chinese food, and the staff take obvious pride in explaining it.
