Ice & Snow World
Songbei, Harbin
A city built entirely of ice: 500,000 cubic meters of sculpted frozen architecture, lit like a dream.
Every winter, Harbin's Ice and Snow World transforms a riverbank into a frozen city: full-scale castles, slides, and tunnels carved from river ice and lit in neon. It is the largest ice festival on earth.
Dress like an expedition: temperatures can hit -30 degrees Celsius. Go after dark when the lights come on, and spend the afternoon at the nearby snow sculptures first.
Best for: The world's largest ice festival, best seen after sunset.
