Suzhou Museum

Suzhou Museum is the last major work of I.M. Pei, built beside the Humble Administrator's Garden and designed to rhyme with it: white walls, ink-black lines, and rockeries arranged like a garden scroll. The collection covers Suzhou's 2,500 years - silk, jade, and Ming furniture.

The building is the exhibit. Come at golden hour, when the shadow-play on the white walls is the best work in the collection. Entry is free with a timed reservation.
