Tianmen Mountain
Yongding, Zhangjiajie
A 7.5km cable car to a mountain with a hole punched through it - and a glass skywalk along the edge.
Tianmen Mountain is a single geological spectacle: a 130-meter hole punched through the cliff by nature, reached by the longest cable car in Asia. Above the cave, a glass skywalk hugs the sheer face of the mountain.
Book tickets early - time slots fill fast. The ascent, the cave stairs, and the skywalk make a full half-day that is equal parts awe and adrenaline.
Best for: A cable car, a hole in a mountain, and a walk on glass.
